Crystallography was, during the course of the last century, one of the most important tools for the development of science. In 2014, the International Year of Crystallography was held, promoted by UNESCO and the International Union of Crystallography. Supported by some pop culture icons, this talk aims to pay tribute to this field of science, reviewing its most significant achievements, while trying to connect them with the corresponding advances in science and society.
Jesús R. Berenguer Marín, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of La Rioja, will host a talk entitled ‘X-ray diffraction: ally of the cinema or Pied Piper of Hamelin’ on Thursday, 20 November in the Elhuyar lecture room at the Bizkaia Aretoa of the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. Entry is free.
This talk is the second in the series on crystallography and X-rays organised by the Chair of Scientific Culture of the UPV/EHU to celebrate the International Year of Crystallography.
